ID Released For Man Killed In Crash On Taconic State Parkway In Yorktown

The motorist who was killed Friday morning in a crash on the Taconic State Parkway near the Northern Westchester/Putnam border has been identified by state police from the Hawthorne barracks.

The fatal crash occurred on the southbound Taconic State Parkway just north of Exit 11 (Route 134) in Yorktown.

The single-vehicle crash occurred on the southbound Taconic just north of Exit 11 (Route 134) in Yorktown at approximately 8 a.m.

The operator and sole occupant of the vehicle was 54-year-old Darsin Sandro of Long Island City.

Sandro's vehicle exited the roadway onto the center median, and struck a tree, state police said.

Sandro was transported by EMS professionals to Weschester Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
